There have been many technological advances in ski boots over the last decade but a new revolution is here, Apex ski boots are a game changer unlike anything else on the market. Co-founded in 2006 by some industry veterans the boots are selling across the globe including here at Rhythm Snow Sports. Skis have undergone dramatic improvements and continue to evolve (as have poles, goggles, helmets, apparel) using different shapes, materials and technology. The look of ski boots has never really changed that much although the technology has. The Apex ski boots uses the latest technology but has changed the appearance to provide the most comfort for the skier. Visually it looks like a snowboard boot with a ski boot frame to allow it to fit into ski bindings but what you may not see is the high-modulus, lightweight carbon fiber, separate cuffs controls, and a unique A-Flex suspension in the component system. The boot is essentially designed so that skiers can walk around easier. To put the boots on (without the ski boot framework) feels like a snowboard boot, that means a much softer exterior. It has a Boa closure system making adjustments super easy whether tightening or loosening. But this doesn’t only make it easier to walk in it also means people who have struggled to fit traditional boots have another option. If you are wondering about performance, ‘at the heart of the system, the Open Chassis allows for independent control of fit, flex, and closure. The adjustable cuff alignment provides critical edge control. The tunable A-flex suspension system allows for individual adjustment of the resistance to forward lean. The Open Chassis gives the Apex Ski Boot System its exceptional edge control, precise feel, and unique versatility, fitting a wide range of foot shapes.’ We haven’t tested them out on the snow yet so you’ll have to watch this space for a review (which we are more then eager to do). But on our initial inspection it has all the benefits of a snowboard boot that is then merged with a ski boot, we are very curious to see if that means it sacrifices anything on performance but all the research and reviews we have read claim it is the boot that you can do anything in! Given this years line is only the second generation is this boot, we think Apex will be a brand to watch in the coming years. *Whichever boots you have in mind for this season make sure you get have a proper boot fit by a professional* For tips on your Snow Sport equipment stay in touch with us: facebook/rhythmsnowsports instagram: @rhythmsnowsports twitter: @rhythmsnowsport
