How to Measure Your Head Size

Grab a soft measuring tape and wrap it around the widest part of your head (just above your ears, across your temples, and about 2–3 cm above your eyebrows). Note the measurement in centimetres, then compare it with the size chart below to find your best fit.

These measurements are designed to guide you towards the size that’s most likely to work best. Every brand shapes their helmets a little differently, so some will naturally feel more snug or relaxed than others. If you’re between sizes or unsure, we recommend trying the helmet on with your goggles or helmet in-store, or checking our easy returns policy to swap if needed.

Buying Guide

Intro

Finding the right helmet is easier when you know what to look for. Use this guide as a starting point to learn about sizing, safety features, and design details that will help you choose with confidence.

Size & Fit

Finding the right helmet size is one of the most important steps to making sure it feels safe and comfortable. A helmet that’s too loose can move around in a fall, while one that’s too tight will feel distracting and uncomfortable.

To measure correctly, take a soft tape measure and wrap it around the widest part of your head (just above your eyebrows and ears), then compare that number in centimetres with the size chart of the helmet you’re looking at. The chart will point you towards the size that’s most likely to fit. Remember that every brand shapes its helmets slightly differently, which means two helmets with the same size label might feel different once you put them on.

If your measurement sits between two sizes or you’re unsure, the best approach is to try the helmet on—ideally with your goggles—so you can check how everything feels together. And if you’re shopping online, remember that our returns and exchanges make it easy to adjust if your first choice doesn’t feel right

Safety Technology

Modern helmets often include extra technologies designed to reduce the risk of injury in certain types of impacts. Protections like MIPS, Koroyd or WaveCel add another layer of protection beyond the standard shell.

Not every helmet has these features, but all of them meet strict safety certifications to ensure they’re up to the task. The key is finding the balance between comfort, fit, and the level of protection you feel confident with.

Comfort Features

The right features can make a helmet more comfortable and practical. Adjustable vents help you stay cool or warm depending on the weather, while systems like BOA or dial-fit adjusters give you a precise fit. Quick-release magnetic buckles, audio-compatible ear pads, removable pads, and goggle clips are small details that make a big difference on the mountain.

Looking for something specific? Our filters let you sort by features so you can spot the right helmet faster

Final Check

Before you peel off the tag, put your helmet on with your goggles and make sure they sit together smoothly (no gaps, no pinching, no awkward pressure points). Getting that perfect fit between helmet and goggles means more comfort, better warmth, and fewer fogging issues on the mountain. If it doesn’t feel right, don’t worry, you can easily exchange it before hitting the slopes.
