Product Info

Features
Features
  • Grip wax designed for application to the grip zone of waxable classic cross-country skis.
  • Klister is a softer, stickier wax than traditional hard grip (stick) waxes and performs best when there is moisture present in the snow crystals.

To Apply:

  • Warm the klister tube gradually using body heat or a non-direct heat source.
  • Ensure the ski's wax pocket is clean, dry, and lightly roughened with sandpaper.
  • If the snow is abrasive, consider ironing in a klister binder or base binder first.
  • Starting at the front of the wax pocket, apply thin, angled stripes from the centre groove towards the edge of the ski on both sides of the groove.
  • Avoid applying klister directly into the centre groove.
  • Stop approximately 1cm short of the end of the wax pocket to allow for smoothing.
  • Using your palm, a synthetic cork, or the rounded edge of a scraper, smooth the klister into a uniform layer on both sides of the groove from the front to the rear of the wax pocket.
  • In cold conditions, a heat gun can be used to assist with smoothing the wax from tip to tail within the grip zone.
  • Allow the wax to cool completely before testing grip performance.

To Remove:

  • Cover the waxed area with toilet paper or Fibrelene.
  • Run a warm (not hot) waxing iron over the paper to draw the klister into the absorbent material.
  • Scrape away the paper and wax residue while the ski base is still warm.
  • Finish by cleaning the grip zone with base cleaner and Fibretex, or additional Fibrelene/toilet paper.
  • Be sure to clean the sidewalls of the wax pocket to remove any remaining wax residue.

Buying Guide

Reviews

In the 1940s, Börje Gabrielsson loved cross-country skiing but was frustrated by skis that lacked grip and glide on varying terrain. Therefore, he called for a scientifically tested ski wax that could handle such challenges.
