To care for mid-layer clothing, prepare the garment by closing all zippers and fastening Velcro. Wash it separately from other laundry using a gentle, technical cleaner and a cool water cycle (around 30∘C30 raised to the composed with power cap C30∘𝐶), and avoid fabric softeners. Air dry or tumble dry on the lowest heat setting, checking the care label for specific instructions.Before washing

• Read the care label: Always check the garment's care label for specific instructions.
• Empty pockets: Make sure all pockets are empty.
• Close and fasten: Zip all zippers, including pocket zippers, and fasten any Velcro straps to prevent snagging.
• Release tension: Untie any drawcords.
• Wash alone: Wash the mid-layer by itself, not with other items. 

During washing

• Use the right cleaner: Use a technical cleaner specifically designed for synthetic or wool mid-layers, not a standard laundry detergent or fabric softener. Follow the product's instructions for the correct amount.
• Select the correct cycle: Use a gentle cycle like "Delicates," "Woollens," or "Handwash".
• Use cool water: Wash in cold water, typically around 30∘C30 raised to the composed with power cap C30∘𝐶, and avoid hot water.
• Rinse thoroughly: Ensure the garment is well rinsed. 

After washing

• Air dry: For most lightweight items, air-drying is best.
• Tumble dry (if allowed): If the care label permits, tumble dry on the lowest heat setting. For items with a water-repellent treatment, a medium-heat drying cycle can help reactivate it.
• Reactivate DWR (if needed): If the outer fabric is soaking up water (especially with heavier use), a wash-in water-repellent treatment product can be applied and then washed on a second cycle before drying.
• Restore texture (for fleece): After drying, you can use a soft bristle brush to restore fluffiness or a fleece shaver to remove pills.
• Lubricate zippers: Apply a lubricant like beeswax or a commercial zipper lubricant to keep zippers running smoothly.
