Weight is especially important because your board responds to how much pressure you’re putting on it—not your height. You might find yourself falling between two sizes. If that happens, a shorter board will be easier to maneuver, while a longer board will be more stable at speed and offer better float in powder.

Boot size is another consideration, as you want to avoid toe or heel drag. A common rule of thumb is that if you wear men’s size 12 or larger (or women’s size 9+), you’ll likely need a wide board to accommodate your boots.
