General Description: Volkl’s flagship RTM model, the 86 UVO features the 3D Ridge and Sidewall construction, designed to reduce weight while still retaining the stout flex profile you’d expect of such a ski. This design also reduces rotational forces by keeping the weight of the ski concentrated in the middle. The UVO (Ultimate Vibration Object) on the tip is a free-moving weight designed to absorb vibrations and shocks at the tip of the ski before they transfer down the length of the ski to your feet. This creates a smoother, quieter ride, free of chatter.
The damp feel of the ski is further enhanced by the addition of a titanium layer (not the more common Titanal, which actually contains no titanium at all). The 86mm waist width adds extra versatility for off-piste skiing and crud-busting. The carefully considered XTD Tip and Tail rocker utilises a long, shallow profile (unlike the fully rockered RTMs of the past). This means the ski is ‘pre-bent’ into its ideal turning radius (designed in harmony with the sidecut) which enables easier turn initiation while retaining remarkable edge grip.
